Under this project, the existing equipment was modernized from a 4-train demineralization system to an ion exchange system. Co-current SAC-H -> SBA-OH -> DEGAS -> SAC-H > SBA-OH design was replaced with counter-current SAC-H -> DEGAS -> WBA SBA-OH design. Each train is comprised of a 3.4 mm strongly acidic cation exchange filter in a form of H+ (loaded with KU-2-8 cation ion exchange resin) and anion exchange filter of the same diameter (loaded with AV-17-8 strong base anion exchange resin) and a weak base Purolite® РРА100.
The counter-current ion exchange process allowed for the following:

2 to 3 times reduction in process equipment used for treatment such as filters, pumps, and valves as well as reduction in piping and tankage volume

1.5 to 2 times reduction in chemical consumption (acids & alkali)

2 to 4 times reduction in water consumption utilized for own use and for chemical water treatment unit as well as reduction of mineral wastewater volume

Phosphorit Industrial Group
The river water treatment system within the chemical treatment facility was modernized. Under this project, the Dyclar process replaced the outdated conventional clarifiers that treat foul waters of the Luga River. Upon installation of Dyclar technology, the water turbidity, iron and aluminium content dropped to zero while the water color dropped below 5 PCU.

An advanced water demineralization project was implemented at the Ethylene Production Plant. For production of a demineralized condensate with a maximum electric conductivity of 0.2 µS/cm, the Dyclar technology with mixed-bed exchanger (MB) and strong acid cation exchanger (SAC) were selected.
Outcomes:

Under this project, the chemical water treatment process within the Workstation 24а-106 was upgraded.
The outdated conventional clarifiers were replaced with Dyclar dynamic clarifiers, reducing the suspended solids content in the treated effluent by 90-95% and significantly decreasing volume of produced wastewater.
